Healthy Twist to Traditional Puris with Khapli Flour and Mix Veggies

The Khapli wheat puri is highly nutritious and guilt free fried food you can eat. Khapli flour is very good for your health as it contains all the essential nutrients like fibre, protein and low gluten. You can pair it with mixed veggies suitable for breakfast and lunch.

Khapli Flour Puri Mix Veggies Recipe -

 

Ingredients - 

1 Cup Khapli Flour

½ Grated mix vegetables - carrot, beetroot, spinach, bottle guard and any of your favourite vegetables.

1 tablespoon of Semolina

1 tbsp Carom seeds (Ajwain)

1 tbsp of Sesame seeds (til)

½ tbsp turmeric powder

½ tbsp of red chili powder

Salt to taste

1 tbsp of A2 bilona ghee

Cold pressed mustard oil

Water as needed

 

Instructions - 

Step 1 - Prepare the dough  - Take a large bowl, add khapli wheat flour, grated vegetables, semolina (for adding crunch), carom seeds, sesame seeds, turmeric powder, chili powder and salt. Add some ghee and mix all the ingredients properly. Then gradually add water to knead the firm and pliable dough. Leave it 10-15 minutes covered. 

Step 2 - Make small balls - Make the small balls out of the dough then flatten the ball into around 4-5 inches in diameter. To prevent sticking, dust puri lightly with khapli atta. 

Step 3 - Fry the Puris - Take a frying pan, place it over flame, pour sufficient amount of ghee or oil as per your choice and let it heat. After the oil heats up well, gently slide a flattened puri into the oil and wait until khapli puri turns crispy and golden brown. 

Step 4 - Serve hot with curd or your favourite vegetable like chana masala
