Stuffed Chana Dal Paratha - A Flavorful Desi Favorite!

Chana dal paratha made with Khapli wheat four, chana dal and A2 ghee is a complete powerhouse of energy with taste and abundant nutrition. There is protein, high fibre, digestive carbs, iron, potassium makes it suitable for digestion and whole day energy. The low gluten khapli atta makes it lighter on the stomach. The a2 ghee spread over cooked dal paratha enhances the flavour and is good for nutrient absorption. You must be feeling hungry now. Here we have the recipe for you -

 

 Ingredients :

For The Dough -

1.     1 cup khapli aata

2.     1/2 tsp salt

3.     1 tbsp oil or A2 ghee

4.     2/3 cup water

 

Method -

Step 1 - Take a wide bowl in which you can easily knead the dough.

Step 2 - Add the Shiva Organic’s Khapli Atta as measured, add a pinch of salt, drizzle some A2 bilona ghee.

Step 3 - Mix them evenly and knead the dough by gradually adding water.

Step 4 - Let the dough rest for 10-15 minutes until you prepare the dal stuffing with the following ingredients and cooking method. .

 

For Dal Stuffing -

1.     1/2 cup chana dal (wash & soak for 4-5hours)

2.     1/2 tsp salt

3.     1/2 tsp turmeric powder

4.     1 cup water

5.     1/2 tsp ghee

6.     Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles (makes sure dal is fully cooked but not mushy)

7.     1/3 cup finely chopped onions

8.     1 finely chopped green chilli

9.     1 tsp fresh grated ginger

10    1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves 

11    1 tsp cumin-coriander powder

12    2/3 tsp red chilli powder

13   1/2 tsp chaat masala or aamchur

 

Method -

Step 1 - Take a bowl, add the cooked chana dal, salt, turmeric powder, finely chopped onions, green chilli, fresh grated ginger. coriander leaves, cumin-coriander powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala or aamchur.

Step 2 - Mix them all together 

Step 3 - Make a tiny ball from the dough and fill in the chana dal mixture, wrap it well and flatten with the help of a roll pin and flat board.

Step 4 - Place a tawa on flame, let it properly heat. Cook the stuffed chana dal paratha from both the sides until golden brown and crispy. Repeat the process one by one for each paratha.
