Navratri Special Ingredients -
1/4 cup Barnyard millet
1 tbsp Desi ghee
2 tbsp cashew and almonds
1/4 cup grated carrot
3 cup milk
1/4 cup Desi Khand
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/4 Cup Fox Nuts
3 - 4 drops kewra Water
Method -
Step 1 - Wash and soak ¼ cup of Barnyard Millet in water for at least 10-15 minutes.
Step 2 - Place a kadhai or cooking pan over the flame, let it heat, add some A2 ghee from Shiva Organic
Step 3 - Add chopped dry fruits and roast until golden brown and keep it aide
Step 4 - Then add the soaked Barnyard Millet (Sama Rice) in the same leftover pre-heated ghee, add some finely chopped carrots and roast them together for 2-3 minutes.
Step 5 - Now add milk, saffron strands and foxnuts (makhana) and mix them well and cover with a lid until the mixture gets evenly soft. Remember to keep the gas flame low.
Step 6 - For sweetness, you can add desi khand or honey, don’t forget to sprinkle some cardamom powder. Additionally, garnish it with already roasted dry fruits. Now it is ready to be served cold or hot.
