Ingredients
1 cup Khapli wheat grain
4 cups of water
1 cup milk
2-3 tbsp of honey or jaggery
½ tbsp of cardamom powder
Salt to taste
Some chopped nuts and dried fruits for garnish
Let’s cook now -
Step-1-Boil Khapli grain over medium heat then lower the flame and put it on simmer for 20-30 minutes until grains become soft and cooked. Don’t forget to stir timely to avoid stickiness.
Step-2-You can add milk to the porridge for a creamy texture. Add jaggery powder for sweetener and mix well.
Step-3-Then sprinkle some cardamom powder and a pinch of salt. Cook for 5 minutes more on low flamer only and then remove it.
Step-4-Serve the hot Khapli wheat grain porridge in a bowl with some chopped dry fruits on it and enjoy.
Here, you can avoid following food items as they can negatively impact your thyroid health.
Iodine rich food - Such as iodised salt, dairy products, sea food, eggs. Too much iodine is not recommended because it can make thyroid issues even worse by making the thyroid gland produce too much thyroid hormone.
