President Murmu to get 1st batch of specially-developed 'Kedar honey'

  • Kedar honey is derived from wild flowers of the Kedar valley like wild hazelnut, chestnut, brahma kamal, cobra lily, wild strawberry, silver oak etc which are endemic to the ecologically-lush valley
  • The honey comes from the Apis Cerana Indica honeybee which is a native species of the region
  • The honey has high antioxidant value as compared to other honey samples collected from elsewhere in the state which experts say indicate that usage of the honey may prove beneficial in numerous diseases like cardiovascular ailments, diabetes, neurological disorders etc
